We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager within Teamwork Platform to lead a team of engineers within the Pacific timezone. You’ll be growing a team of engineers, who develop and maintain people and teams features (think profiles, teams, groups, etc) on all Atlassian cloud products.
Our Teamwork Platform team is responsible for envisioning and implementing the concept of Teams across all Atlassian products. Today, most products have their own custom profiles, teams, and groups features leading to a fragmented experience. Or goal is to unify and evolve on these concepts, imagine a world where you can assign a Jira ticket to a team, notify that same team about a blog post on Confluence, and give that same team access to a Trello board.
You’ll play a key leadership role in one of the most important cross-company efforts at Atlassian. As such a critical part of the role will be influencing and managing stakeholders at different levels across Atlassian. You'll be crafting our next generation of infrastructure and delivering value to our customers through innovation. You'll work closely with our design and product management teams to influence the direction of the product and define a strategy to get there.
Your greatest responsibility will be looking after the individuals reporting to you, coaching and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and challenging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

    • Influence and manage stakeholders across various teams
    • Significant experience with building large scale web software
    • Experience leading a development team in (at least) a technical capacity
    • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
    • Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation and quality
    • Strong organizational and communication skills

Experience in the following is preferred:

    • Employee performance & growth management
    • Experience with large scale distributed systems
    • Experience with microservices
    • Continuous delivery
    • AWS
