We’re looking for a hands-on Design Program Manager (DPM) with strong organisational, operation and process development skills to empower our design team to do exceptional work. 
Our team is growing quickly and we’re looking for the right person to help us scale our operations and help our design and research teams thrive. This is an opportunity to define, build and lead the design ops function in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

You’re confident analysing organisational needs, presenting your ideas, steering and influencing leaders across the company and executing a vision for building an impactful and engaged design team.
As Design Program Manager, you will work closely with the design leadership team, peers within the design team and partners across our brand, growth, events, social, marketing, website, and executive teams.

You will:

    • You will collaborate with designers of all levels to make a positive difference to their work and their careers.
    • Improve the creative output of a talented and diverse group of designers by creating and optimising processes, tools, and working practices 
    • Cultivate an environment of sustained creativity and professional growth ensuring a supportive, engaging and fulfilling culture.
    • You will work closely with our Team Leads and People Team on recruitment strategy, its implementation and onboarding new staff
    • Measure the impact of programs and initiatives both qualitatively and quantitativelySupport the creation and management of our Design and Brand Systems.
    • Ensure design decisions in our hypothesis-driven experimentation are user-driven and data-informed — through an improved flow of information between the Product Design, Customer Support, User Research, and Data teams
    • Build a strong, trustworthy and collaborative relationship with Designers and our partners across Onfido to ensure cross-department collaboration
    • Develop and lead programs to support the design organization's strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals

Essential Skills:

    • You have demonstrable success helping companies scale their creative team - we’d love to hear stories of the challenges you faced, the strategies you implemented and what worked (or didn’t).
    • You’ve led hiring, onboarding and career growth processes and built frameworks to support your team.
    • You have experience building and managing design systems
    • You have experience working with both product and marketing design teams as well as a basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research best practices
    • You’ve analysed and improved design process and quality by identifying gaps and weaknesses, optimising workflows and establishing clear measurements of success

Desirable Skills

    • You have a design sensibility and a passion for making things simple.
    • You have exceptional organisational and communication skills.
    • Able to balance multiple priorities and inspire others to action.
    • You have experience with human-centred design methodologies, empathy for those around you, and passion for teaching and learning from others to shape process and culture.
    • You have a bias towards action and execution balanced with the instinct to inspire high-quality output.

What Next?

Typically, a do-at-home problem-solving task or scenario will follow, before closing out with onsite technical and behavioural conversations with the team.
