As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key member of our growing finance team. You will be utilizing your excellent customer service and analytical skills to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our AR collections. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented, eager accounting professional to have a significant impact in a fast-growing organization. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate in maintaining strong relationships with customers and the sales team while achieving collection targets.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada.

What we're looking for:

    • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivables role with focus on collections. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must since the role requires constant communication with customers and internal stakeholders. 
    • Highly skilled in multitasking and effectively prioritizing responsibilities, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively complete tasks.
    • Exceptional attention to detail when investigating and resolving discrepancies in customer accounts and accounts receivable account balances.
    • Proficient in Excel with a strong aptitude for analytical work. 
    • Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
    • A knack for learning things on your own and quickly adapting to new environments.
    • Ability to demonstrate teamwork skills in a growing team.
    • Experience in the tech industry, Netsuite and AR tools such as Tesorio is a plus.

What you can expect:

    • Own the collection process, follow up on customer payments and liaise with sales teams to get the information needed to facilitate collections. 
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and handle escalated collection issues.
    • Maintain a running weekly AR collection status report which records all collection activities particularly on big dollar accounts and aged receivables.  
    • Identify and facilitate the resolution of all customer disputes on a timely basis, working with sales, customer success and other internal stakeholders when necessary.
    • Implement collection policies and procedures to maintain the target DSO level. 
    • Prepare monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting related to collections of customer accounts and subsequently implement any required actions based on the results.
    • Identify process gaps and recommend solutions to improve our current collection process. 
    • Develop and execute an effective collection strategy to maximize cash flow, reduce delinquencies, and minimize bad debt.
    • Prepare month-end account reconciliations and analysis on AR-related accounts. 
Canada-based roles only: The Annual salary for this role is between $81,000CAD and $109,000CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
