THE TEAM
The Tax team works cross-functionally with Executive leaders and frontline managers across Eventbrite to provide support for global business initiatives. As an action-oriented and practical team, we give structure to complicated issues by thinking creatively to find solutions while always ensuring compliance and mitigating risk across different jurisdictions worldwide. Our team is growing and we’re looking for an exceptional Tax Analyst to join our team.
THE CHALLENGE
It’s an exciting time to join Eventbrite! Our product offerings continue to evolve and expand with the return of live events!  As a result, our business continues to become more complex and dynamic, creating great opportunities for our growing Tax team.  Our Tax team partners with business and Executive leadership to develop, monitor and scale our global tax strategy. We are working through significant changes in the world of global tax and this role will have a direct impact to shape how we continue to scale as a business and support that growth as a Tax team.
THE ROLE
Approximately 50% of your time will be spent on global indirect taxes, US State & Local tax matters, and ad hoc projects. The other 50% will be assisting global income tax matters. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
Support income tax provision, compliance, and planning initiatives. Partner with external consultants on the preparation of US and foreign income tax returns. Support information gathering for global indirect tax compliance, audits and inquiries, and local tax filings. Support monthly and quarterly close processes by preparing work papers, tax journal entries, and reconciling tax general ledger accounts. Maintain the global tax calendar to ensure accurate and timely filings and payments for both indirect tax and income taxes. Manage and respond to tax notices.
Assist with tax budgeting for both external providers and tax expenses. Identify and implement improvements to internal processes to increase efficiencies and reduce risk. Maintain productive working relationships within finance teams.

THE SKILLSET

    • Willing and excited to continue learning tax and accounting concepts and processes 
    • 2 years of experience in a tax or accounting-related field required
    • Experience with income tax compliance, provision for income taxes, sales & use tax, and state audit experience is not required, but a plus
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Superior skills in Microsoft ExcelExperience with ERP systems
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments within a team setting
    • Ability to successfully and consistently work on multiple assignments

BONUS POINTS

    • MS in Taxation or CPA licensure
    • Experience with Workday Financial Management
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $59,400 to $95,040. You may also be eligible to participate in Eventbrite’s incentive program(s) (such as equity, annual incentive bonus and commission plans), subject to the applicable rules and restrictions.
