As the Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, you will be a key member of our growing Finance/Accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounts payable professional with a passion for automation and process improvements. Using your prior experience in a fully integrated procure-to-pay system, you will lead the implementation of new tools and will identify areas for improvement to enhance controls related to accounts payable. You will be responsible for transactions processing, accounting, and reporting related to accounts payable and corporate credit cards.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

    • 5+ years of AP experience with a detailed understanding of AP transactions and processes, including the monthly closing of AP, reconciliations and accruals, vendor management and account analysis. 
    • 3+ years of prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role.  
    • Advanced excel skills and experience in using a fully integrated procure-to-pay system. Experience in AP tools implementation is considered an asset. 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. 
    • Experience in a multi-currency and multi legal entity environment. 
    • Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision while adhering to necessary deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate teamwork skills in a growing team.
    • Experience in the tech industry and with Netsuite is a plus.

What you can expect:

    • Lead the projects related to the automation of the AP and credit card processes. 
    • Assist in processing vendor invoices and managing the AP inbox. 
    • Perform month-end AP close process relative to accurate accruals and vendor account reconciliations. 
    • Meet with department heads and work with FP&A to obtain accurate month end accruals. 
    • Identify process issues and recommend enhancements to improve controls and increase efficiencies and effectiveness of AP and corporate credit processes.
    • Provide support for quarterly reviews and year-end financial audit by pulling requested samples and documentation and participating in walkthroughs of AP processes. 
    • Prepare and improve AP reports and working papers for internal and external audit.  
    • Manage the approval workflows of all AP process to ensure that accurate and up-to-date approval matrix are used.
