We’re looking for a Junior User Researcher to support our user research practice and help Onfido identify for everyone. 
In this role, you’ll: 
- Facilitate research for our three core user groups: End-users, internal users and our clients
- Participate in all aspects of user research and research operations including growing our research panel, developing briefs and screeners, facilitating research and synthesizing and sharing results.
As a Junior User Researcher, we understand you may be early in your career, so we’ll provide learning opportunities, mentorship and support as you develop. You’ll start by supporting on smaller, well-scoped pieces of work and as you build confidence, you’ll take on more responsibility and greater challenges. 
You’ll be joining a kind, inclusive, and mature Design & Research team with experienced leadership. You’ll work alongside Senior Researchers who’ll provide you with the mentorship and support you need to do your best work and to grow as a professional. 
We have engineers and designers working in our London and Lisbon offices and are open to candidates in the UK, Portugal, Germany or France.

What you'll do at Onfido:

    • Design, organise and conduct primary research across our key user groups, using a variety of methods
    • Shadow more experienced researchers on ongoing and new projects and take on progressively more responsibility for different parts of the research process over time
    • Own project operations to support project success: recruitment, note-taking, data analysis and management, insight generation and insight communication across a diverse portfolio of projects
    • Develop a rigorous approach to data collection, synthesis, and storytelling through our research repository tool
    • Be a reliable and credible voice of users, providing guidance and influencing decisions that impact Onfido’s direction as a company
    • Contribute to the high quality of our work through attention to detail, asking the right questions, identifying opportunities for and setting up process efficiencies, and problem-solving
    • Be a key contributor in growing the maturity of our User Research practice.

About You - We don’t expect everyone to have every type of experience on our list. If you have a lot of the relevant skills and think you’d be good at the role, we’d love to hear from you. We love people with unconventional career paths!

    • Have a basic understanding of qualitative research methodologies and have started to get your feet wet supporting (or in some cases leading) primary research projects
    • Understand some or all of the research process and how product teams can use research insights and data to identify opportunities, validate decisions and measure the value they provide to the business
    • Have a basic understanding of or some experience with user-centred design and delivery practices
    • Have a basic understanding of or some experience with user-centred design and delivery practices

    • Keen to grow and take on a progressively greater degree of responsibility and autonomy in designing and delivering timely user research for product teams
    • Passionate about unpacking messy problems and advocating for customer and user needs with key stakeholders and decision-makers
What Next?
Apply! We’ll then assess your application against the role and other applicants. If successful, we’ll begin a two-way conversation where we can both find out a bit more about each other. Typically, this will involve and intro with our Director of User Research followed by an on-site presentation and interviews with the team. We’ll be here to support you throughout the interview process to ensure that you are comfortable and prepared.
The process from application to completion should take two to four weeks, depending on our calendars.

At Onfido, we have a distributed workforce.
For this role, you can work in any EU country where we have a legal entity. We have a hybrid model, and you can choose to work fully remote, or come to our offices! We let all of our employees choose what’s best for them.
